FAQ

What are server cabinets/network cabinets?

Server cabinets are used to securely house all network devices. The cabinet also helps with the air circulation of the devices, as this can be controlled via fan units.
In addition, the devices have a fixed location and maintenance is made easier.

How is the server cabinet shipped?

We usually ship server cabinets on a pallet using a forwarding agent. The cabinets are already fully pre-assembled.

Wall cabinets are shipped by parcel. Only the RS19-6418, RS19-6612 and RS19-6615 are shipped by a forwarding agent in order to guarantee a high level of transport security.

The delivery time for parcels is usually 1 to 2 working days. For forwarding shipments, we expect 3 to 5 working days. Of course, you will receive a tracking number from us, which you can use to track the shipment.

How do I find the right network cabinet for my needs?

In general, it depends on the area of application. In a smart home environment, a wall-mounted cabinet is usually perfectly adequate, whereas in an office or corporate environment, the choice often falls on a floor-standing network cabinet.

To make the right choice, you need to consider 2 areas:

Where will the network cabinet be located? In other words, how much space do you have available? Will the cabinet be located in a closed room?

Which components do you want to store in your cabinet? In other words, the number and size of the devices to be installed determine the minimum size.

It is also important to think about the future. As requirements increase, you should opt for a larger cabinet.

You can use the following features as a guide:

Width/height/depth: more space -> more comfort
Ventilation/cooling: perforated doors / active cooling elements
Security: lockable door handles
Equipment: cable rails, substructure, tightness

How do I install components in a server rack?

All components are simply installed in a server enclosure using cage nuts and screws. To do this, the cage nut in the server enclosure is inserted from behind into the holes provided in the mounting rail and the devices are screwed to the mounting rail using the screw.

How do I find the right accessories for my closet?

There are 2 options here. On the one hand, our article numbers provide you with information about compatibility. On the other hand, you can use the installation depths as a guide.

The article numbers of the accessories are identical to those of the network enclosures. The second number after the hyphen represents the intended depth of the server enclosure. In the example of the RS19-6042PP enclosure, a shelf RS19-FH69 and/or a heavy-duty shelf RS19-SFH610/ RS19-SFH79 can be installed.

If you are unsure about the configuration, we will be happy to answer your questions!
