This compact and attractive device is the powerhouse among Power over Ethernet switches. It offers PoE according to the 802.3af/at standard on all eight Gigabit Ethernet ports with up to 30 watts per port and a maximum total output of 140 watts. This means that you can operate several devices such as access points, IP phones and surveillance cameras by simply connecting them via Ethernet cable - without any additional power supply.
The DGS-1008MP has eight 10/100/1000BASE-T ports that support the PoE+ protocol or the IEEE 802.3at standard. Each of the eight PoE+ ports delivers up to 30 watts, with a maximum total PoE power of 140 watts. PoE is particularly useful for devices that are not near a power outlet or to save on additional cables.
No configuration is required and installation is quick and easy. With support for automatic MDI/MDI-X on all ports, no crossover cables are required when connecting another switch. Auto-tuning on each port detects the connection speed of network devices (10, 100 or 1000 Mbps) and ensures compatibility and optimal performance. The switch has a fanless design so it operates silently in any environment. With zero-speed filtering and store-and-forward transmission, the DGS-1008MP ensures maximum network performance while minimizing the forwarding of erroneous network packets.
DGS-1008MP switches offer both D-Link Green 3.0 technology and IEEE802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) to reduce operating costs without compromising performance or functionality. With D-Link Green technology, the switches continuously monitor the link status and network usage of each port. The switches also automatically detect cable length and can reduce transmission power for shorter cables. By using EEE-enabled devices on the DGS-1008MP, companies can significantly reduce power consumption by automatically putting unused ports into a sleep state.
